Matthias Begenat received his doctorate from HHU Düsseldorf in the field of Communications and Media Studies in 2015. He studied Politics, Economy and Society as well as Media Studies at Ruhr University Bochum (Bachelor’s degree) and completed his Master’s degree in Political Communication at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.
From 2010 to 2015 he conducted research and held courses as an academic assistant in the department of Communications and Media Studies as well as the Linkage in Democracy graduate academy at Düsseldorf University.
From 2016 to 2017 he worked in the Public Relations Department at the Media Authority of North Rhine-Westphalia (LfM).
