Esther Laukötter (Science Communication Officer)

Esther Laukötter is science communication officer and responsible for press relations at CAIS. She ensures that research results from the project Opinion Monitor Artificial Intelligence [MeMo:KI] are communicated in in a comprehensible way and is the contact person for journalists.

Previously, she has researched and published on science communication, taught on topics of strategic communication, and gained professional experience in various PR agencies. As a freelancer, she has given various training seminars on media competence, especially in the field of online communication, and created communication campaigns and concepts for various organizations.

Curriculum Vitae
  • From 2020 – 2021, Esther Laukötter was a research associate at the Chair KMW I at the Institute of Social Sciences at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. Areas of teaching and research include Strategic Communication and Science Communication.
  • In 2021, she submitted her doctoral thesis on ‘Crisis – Communication – Management? Crisis Communication between Control and the Illusion of Control’ in Communication Studies.
  • From 2013 – 2019, she researched and taught as a research assistant and doctoral candidate in the Strategic Communication department of Prof. Dr. Ulrike Röttger at the Institute of Communication Studies at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster.
  • She completed her studies at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Media Studies and German Studies, Bachelor) and at the WWU Münster (Communication Studies, Master).
