Samuel Simon (Research Innovation Hub)

Samuel Simon is supporting the development of the Research Innovation Hub at CAIS since November 2020. He is responsible for the implementation of agile methodology to strengthen interdisciplinary research on digitization and identify relevant fields of research. He draws on professional experience in the areas of service design, design thinking and agile innovation and provides practical knowledge in the conception and implementation of workshop formats. His interests focus on the areas of participatory digital culture and ethical design.

Curriculum Vitae
  • Since 2018 Samuel Simon supports digital transformation processes of consulting businesses as a freelancer.
  • Between 2017 and 2020 he developed and implemented the digital strategy for the Service Design Network gGmbH, where he received further training in the areas of service design, design thinking and future forecasting.
  • Parallel to that he completed a workshop facilitation training at the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as a project manager training at the Institute for Practical Psychology and Organisational Development (IPO Lomnitz) in the years of 2017 and 2018.
  • Since 2017 he has been facilitating media competence workshops for TV and radio productions for the media education department of WDR Cologne.
  • Since 2016 he has been a lecturer at the University of Cologne, where he teaches project management in the creative business and develops film productions with the students.
  • He completed his studies in media management and media culture studies (Bachelor and Master) between 2011 and 2017.
  • From 2008 to 2011, after his training as a photographer, he worked as a studio manager, trainer and video producer for international clients in the field of fashion and interior design.
